Shirley Temple

Midseason, white with a red fleck. Listed as pink in some catalogs, has only ever been white for me. Shaggier petals than Festiva Maxima. Forms buds that are more open than other varieties. For several years this led to there being a black fleck of mold on the tips of the petals when the bloom opened, making this variety unusable as a cut flower. In the last couple of years the problem hasn't been present.
