Peony Root-Sarah Bernhardt

Arguably the most iconic peony, Sarah Bernhardt is probably the one you think of first. Fully double and so so pink, there's a reason she's the queen. Blooms the first to second week of May on my farm in South Carolina. May need staking to support huge blooms on thinner stems. Appreciates afternoon shade.

Peonies are perennials, and will need a space about 3' x 3'. They will usually begin blooming by the third year after planting. The roots we sell here have 3-5 eyes and are the same size and quality that I plant on my peony farm.

This listing is for one peony bare root. It is not potted and is not a growing plant. Planting dormant roots in the fall allows the peony plant to grow lots of feeder roots over the cool months to feed lush top growth in the spring.

I cannot 100% guarantee variety. Suppliers are not completely scrupulous about sending the correct variety and I've had some surprises. They are always peonies, and they've always been pleasant surprises, but not always what I ordered. Please know this is a possibility before ordering. Refunds will only be made if it can be determined there's been a mistake on the part of The Peony Fields
